Finding your way about and getting the information you need
To get to a news story from the home page
• click on the grey headline as it scrolls across the top of the page
• or click on the picture with one of our two top stories
• there are also quick links to latest news, recent releases
and current issues
Navigate around the site by using the menu at the top left of every page.
Once you have opened an item you will find links within the text and at the foot of the page to other related information.

Search bar
Enter a word or phrase and you will be given a list of all news stories, background information and everything else on this site containing the phrase. If you type in 'Metro' you will probably get too much information, so it's best to enter terms like 'Bus Showcase' or 'Gary Clarke'. This can be a good place to start if you are researching a specific topic.
The search engine looks for exact phrases, so 'Bilston bus station' will only look for those three words in exactly the same order. It's best to type 'Bilston AND bus station'.

News & Analysis
Here you will find all News Releases in date order. The first page gives you the most recent five releases - there are then options to see the last three month's worth (five per page) and all previous news stories in the Archive. In each case, click on the headline or use the drop down menu to see more details.
Some news stories have a News Analysis attached. This gives further background information.

Background Material
Information to support news stories is filed here - and there are links to the information from the relevant story.
Background Papers can be a range of things - such as statistics, policy documents or other explanation. We will post information from partner organisations here too (such as news releases from other bodies or PTEG papers for example)
PTA Reports: Where a news story is related to a report to the Passenger Transport Authority or one of its committees, you will find a copy of the report here.
Industry Comment: Looking for a different view? This has selected background information from the rest of the public transport sector. Where copyright allows we may post copies of related news and feature articles.

A selection of images for free download. There are stock shots of buses, trams, trains etc and key people, plus images to illustrate stories and from photocalls. To keep the online image library to a manageable size, just the best, most useful, most relevant and most recent shots are shown. If you don't find what you want online, please contact us.

Events
This is split into four sub sections.
Centro / PTA Events gives details mainly of PTA committee meetings, photocalls, launches and other media events.
Public Transport Events gives a selection of other dates we think might be useful - such as conferences, expected announcements and campaign days or weeks (like TravelWise Week for example)
Under Speeches and Presentations we will post copies of what has been said publicly by Centro and PTA people - as long as a web-friendly copy is available.
