PTEG news release: A new survey of MPs has shown that the majority of Labour MPs are increasingly frustrated with the relative lack of attention paid to local bus services by central Government. They also want to see buses across Britain run in the same way as they are in London.

During a lunchtime fringe hosted by Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Authority, delegates, bus operators, union officials and passenger transport executive officers heard arguments for and against bus regulation. Chairing the event was Jim Hancock, Political Editor for BBC North-West. The panel was made up of Graham Stringer MP, Chris Mulligan, Director General of the GMPTE, Transport Minister Tony McNulty MP, Phil White from National Express and Councillor Roger Jones, the chair of GMPTA.
