December 2005 Rail Timetable Changes

New rail timetables being introduced from Sunday 11th December 2005 will bring significant changes for some stations. The main changes are outlined below:

Wolverhampton Line

·               On Mondays to Saturdays, Coseley will have its service improved to three trains per hour, including two per hour non-stop to Birmingham New Street, and through links to Shrewsbury and Liverpool.

·               On Mondays to Fridays, Sandwell and Dudley will have new direct services to Crewe and Liverpool

·               Some local services will no longer serve Coseley and Sandwell and Dudley as a result of the above.

Coventry Line

·               On Mondays to Fridays, most Canley, Tile Hill, Berkswell and Hampton-in-Arden services will run non-stop between Birmingham International and Birmingham New Street, speeding-up journey times. The new “Desiro” trains will operate most of these services.

·               On Mondays to Fridays, Birmingham International, Marston Green, Lea Hall, Stechford and Adderley Park will have through services to Walsall.

·               Adderley Park will have its service frequency reduced to hourly in order to assist the reliable operation of the Birmingham International – Walsall service.

Walsall Line

·               On Mondays to Fridays from 1000 to 1900 there will be a half-hourly direct service between Walsall and Birmingham International. These services call at all stations between Walsall and Birmingham New Street.

·               On Mondays to Fridays the 0721 and 0832 Walsall to New Street services will be operated by the new “Desiro” trains.

Cross City Line

·               No significant changes

Stourbridge, Solihull and Shirley Lines
